Big Rig Driver Injured in Glasscock County Fatal Crash

Glasscock County, TX (April 10, 2026) – 42-year-old Joseph Wayne Summers of Blanchard, Oklahoma, was killed in a Highway 137 collision Wednesday night.

The authorities responded to the fatal vehicle crash past 7 p.m. on April 8.

Troopers said a Mack Pinnacle semi-truck hauling a trailer was traveling north on Highway 137.

At the same time, a Ram pickup truck was westbound on FM 2401 when its driver failed to observe a stop sign in the roadway.

The Ram pickup truck then collided with a Mack Pinnacle semi-truck hauling a trailer.

The pickup’s driver, Summers, was declared deceased at the scene, while the driver of the big rig was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers said both drivers were wearing seatbelts during the collision.
