Pedestrian Declared Dead in Hartsdale Drive Accident

Dallas, TX (April 2, 2026) – 42-year-old Juan Francisco Barreto was fatally injured following a Fort Worth Avenue accident late Monday night.

It was past 10 p.m. on March 30 when the deadly accident happened at the 2900 block area Fort Worth Avenue.

Troopers said Barreto was attempting to cross the street at the crossing of Hartsdale Drive.

The victim had already crossed the westbound lanes of Fort Worth Avenue, and was about to cross the eastbound lanes a black Honda struck him.

The 20-year-old driver of the Honda stopped and remained at the scene until rescuers arrived.

Sadly, Juan Francisco Barreto, was declared dead at the scene.

Officers are conducting a further investigation.
