Two Odessa Men Killed, Three Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision on SH 302

Ector County, TX (December 9, 2025) — 25-year-old Sebastian Trevino and 26-year-old Juan Guerrero, both from Odessa were killed in a wrong-way Collision on State Highway 302 early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 4:45 a.m. near the SH 302 and FM 181 intersection in Ector County.

Reports say a westbound Ford F-150 driven in the wrong direction by 19-year-old Baltazar Sotelo struck a 2017 Hyundai Elantra head-on. Sotelo and his 16-year-old passenger both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

The Hyundai’s driver, 26-year-old Jesus Montoya, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Tragically, the two passengers in the Elantra — Trevino and Guerrero, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed both were wearing seatbelts.

Officials are still working to determine what caused the wrong-way entry onto the highway.
