Las Cruces, NM (June 15, 2025) – 48-year-old Juan Haro died Friday evening, in a tragic pedestrian crash on Boutz Road.

According to Las Cruces police, the deadly crash happened around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Boutz Road and El Paseo Road.

Reports say that a vehicle struck and killed Juan A. Haro while he crossed the street late Friday night.

Las Cruces Police and Fire responded to reports of a pedestrian crash.

First responders found Haro with multiple injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

Traffic investigators determined Haro was crossing Boutz Road from north to south when a westbound vehicle, approaching El Paseo Road, struck him.

The 17-year-old driver stopped nearby and cooperated with police, who seized the vehicle pending a search warrant and further investigation. Authorities have filed no charges at this time.
