Angelo Pinheiro Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Southeast Austin
Austin, TX (May 27, 2025) – 36-year-old Juan Mario Martinez-Hernandez tragically lost his life after a hit-and-run crash on Burleson Road.
According to Austin police, the fatal collision happened around 12:50 a.m. in the 4900 block of Burleson Road.
Police arrested 34-year-old Angelo Francisco Pinheiro for allegedly hitting and killing Martinez-Hernandez.
Authorities pronounced Martinez-Hernandez dead at the scene, while Pinheiro fled before contacting authorities from his apartment.
Officers later arrested him and booked him into Travis County Jail on charges of DWI and Collision Involving Death. This incident marks the 35th fatal crash in Austin this year.
The investigation is ongoing.
