Julian Whorton Arrested in Hit-and-Run Crash on Outer 40 Road [Chesterfield, MO]

Traffic Worker Injured in Hit-and-Run Outside The Factory in Chesterfield

Chesterfield, MO (December 11, 2025) — A traffic control worker suffered injuries Sunday night after a hit-and-run on Outer 40 Road, which led to the arrest of 29-year-old Julian Whorton.

According to Chesterfield police, the frightening crash happened when a truck hit the victim and left the scene after a concert at The Factory in Chesterfield.

Police arrested the suspected driver the following day. Prosecutors charged Whorton with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving physical injury.

Reports say that the worker was directing vehicles when Whorton’s truck struck him with enough force to break off parts of the truck’s mirror before speeding away.

First responders found the victim unconscious and bleeding. He was taken to a hospital with multiple injuries and required stitches to his head.

Surveillance and dash camera footage helped investigators identify the suspect vehicle. Officers determined the truck had been rented from Enterprise on November 25 and matched mirror fragments found at the scene. An Ellisville officer located the vehicle on Monday, leading to Whorton’s arrest.

During the investigation, Whorton claimed he thought he struck a traffic cone and did not realize he had hit a person. A search of the truck uncovered several substances believed to be narcotics, which were sent to a lab for testing.

Whorton is being held on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled for a court arraignment on Wednesday.

Do The Right Thing. Stay. Help. Take Responsibility.

A hit-and-run is not just a crime, but a devastating act of cowardice leaving victims injured, scared, and sometimes fighting for their lives. If you’re involved in a traffic accident, stop immediately. Call 911. Help those who are hurt.

Remember that fleeing the scene only worsens the situation and carries serious legal consequences, including felony charges. Victims deserve accountability and justice.

If you or someone you know is injured in a hit-and-run, seek immediate medical help and notify authorities. Crashes involving fleeing drivers can have long-term physical and legal consequences. Stay alert in high-traffic areas and report hazardous driving when possible.
