Good Samaritan Dead after Fresno Crash on Highway 99 near Manning Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 11, 2021) – Wednesday morning, Juliana Ramos was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 99 near Manning Avenue.
 
According to reports, Ramos was trying to help a crash victim when a car hit her. Then, the driver who hit Juliana Ramos escaped the scene.
 
The authorities received an initial report of a car and big rig crash on Highway 99 near Manning Avenue.
 
Following this, another vehicle stopped near the crash and Ramos went out to help.
 
According to the CHP officers, the SUV driver stopped and exited the vehicle for a moment. Then, the driver got back in the car and drove away.
 
“It is a dangerous and active freeway, people are driving, some people may or may not be paying attention,” stated CHP Officer Kelly Carreno. “And when they see something like a broken-down vehicle in the middle of the lane, their response may not be what you would think, so that makes a huge danger on the roadway for us.”
 
According to investigators, the suspect SUV is probably red or burgundy. Also, it sustained front end damage from the impact.
 
The authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the California Highway Patrol.
 
Meanwhile, the person Ramos was attempting to save was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
 
To aid in raising funds for Ramos’s funeral, the family initiated a GoFundMe page.
