Compton, CA (September 4, 2026) — 39-year-old Julio Munoz died after a vehicle struck him before sunrise Wednesday in Compton, and the driver fled the scene.

The crash happened around 4:50 a.m. on Alameda Street near Pine Street, close to the border with the unincorporated Willowbrook area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
