HPD Declares Victim Dead in Houston Traffic Accident

Houston, TX (March 3, 2026) – Juston Smith, 24, was killed in a Beltway 8 pedestrian crash late Friday night.

The deadly traffic crash happened past 10 p.m. at 7201 S Sam Houston Parkway E.

According to the authorities, a blue BMW 740 was eastbound when the driver struck Smith while standing in the main lanes of the highway.

Troopers said the victim was searching for a lost item when he was hit.

HPD officers responded to the scene and declared Smith dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 50-year-old man driving the BMW remained at the accident scene and did not show signs of intoxication.
