Two Injured in Westbound U.S. 12 Crash Near Touchet, Charges Pending

Walla Walla County, WA (December 20, 2025) — 24-year-old Katherine Laurenson sustained injuries early Thursday morning after a vehicle left the roadway on U.S. 12, approximately five miles west of Touchet.

Authorities reported that 27-year-old Luke M. Elliott of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, was driving westbound at 3:41 a.m. when he failed to navigate a curve, causing his 2025 Nissan Sentra to leave the road. His passenger, Katherine M. Laurenson of Sterling, Virginia, was also injured. Both were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Their current conditions have not been released.

The Nissan was totaled in the crash. Washington State Patrol indicated that drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the collision, and charges against Elliott are pending. Investigators continue to examine the cause of the accident.
