53-Year-Old Man Killed in Semi-Truck Crash in East Lubbock

Lubbock, TX (September 12, 2026) — 53-year-old Kenneth Massey died after a crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck Friday morning in East Lubbock.

Police responded around 7:18 a.m. to the crash at the access road near East 34th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Officers found Massey dead at the scene.

Investigators believe Massey was driving the pickup through the 3400 block of MLK Jr. Boulevard and approaching a stop sign at East 34th Street when the vehicles collided. The impact ejected Massey from the pickup.

The semi-truck driver, 29-year-old Dameon Marmolejo, was not injured. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the fatal crash.
