Kevin Buchanan Hurt in Horrific Crash on Highway 114 [Northlake, TX]

Northlake, TX (September 22, 2026) — Roanoke Police Cpl. Kevin Buchanan, 36, suffered critical injuries during a high-speed motorcycle pursuit that ended in a crash around midnight Sunday on State Highway 114 near Interstate 35W in Northlake, Texas.

Police said Buchanan attempted to stop 26-year-old Deontae Keshawn Myers of Lawton, Oklahoma, who was riding a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle. Myers allegedly fled, leading to a pursuit that ended when his motorcycle struck a 2023 Ford Transit van. Buchanan then collided with the van while trying to avoid the crash.

Buchanan suffered multiple broken bones and internal bleeding and underwent surgery. Myers also remained hospitalized with injuries. Authorities charged Myers with evading arrest with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and reckless driving. The van’s occupants were not injured.
