Suspected DUI Crash in Fresno County Claims a Life
Fresno County, CA (July 30, 2025) On Saturday evening, 24-year-old Kevin Juarez died following a rollover crash involving suspected DUI on Mt. Whitney Avenue.
According to authorities, the fatal incident happened around 10 p.m. just west of Cedar Avenue.
Reports say that Juan Carlos Mendoza Jr. was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe westbound with three passengers when the vehicle veered off the road into a walnut orchard. The SUV hit several trees before overturning.
Mendoza Jr. and his front-seat passenger, who both wore seatbelts, sustained only minor injuries. However, the two passengers in the back were not restrained. One of them, identified as Juarez, was found unresponsive in the wreckage. Emergency crews performed CPR at the scene and during transport, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
After being medically cleared, authorities booked Mendoza Jr. into the Fresno County Jail on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury.
