Kevin Luu of Garden Grove Killed in Stolen Vehicle Crash on Taft Street [Garden Grove, CA]

Garden Grove, CA (May 27, 2024) – 34-year-old Kevin Luu of Garden Grove was killed in a stolen vehicle crash on Taft Street Saturday night.

It was about 9:45 p.m. when the authorities located a stolen vehicle at the intersection with Garden Grove Boulevard. However, when the police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver attempted to flee the scene by driving south on Taft Street.

The juvenile driver crashed into three vehicles at the intersection of Taft Street and Trask Avenue. Afterward, the driver attempted to flee the scene on foot before the authorities caught them.

A passenger in the stolen vehicle has fled the scene and remains at large.

Moreover, two people from the traffic collision were taken to the hospital.

One of them, Kevin Luu, was later declared dead while the other victim remains in critical condition.

The juvenile suspect driver was treated for minor injuries before being jailed in Juvenile Hall.

The authorities did not say what charges the suspect may face against the driver. Drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor.
