Driver to Face Charges Following Deadly DUI Crash in Bandera County
Bandera County, TX (May 30, 2025) – Valeri Mireles, 19, lost her life following a Highway 173 collision early Sunday morning.
The fatal vehicle crash happened around 1:40 a.m. on May 25 in Bandera County.
Texas DPS said a white Chevy Camaro driven by Evan Mazurek, 22, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a blue KIA Flex driven by Valeri Mireles, head-on.
Sadly, Mireles was declared dead at the crash scene while Mazurek was transported to a hospital.
Authorities said Mazurek was found to be driving impaired, but was not taken into custody due to his injuries.
Officers said charges for Driving While Intoxicated and Intoxication Manslaughter will be filed.
This fatal crash is under further investigation.
