Police Investigate Two-Vehicle Crash at Caldwell and JC Penney Roads in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, MO (June 18, 2026)— A Kidder man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Caldwell Road and JC Penney Roads on Thursday morning in Caldwell County.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Caldwell Road and JC Penney Road, about three miles southeast of Kidder.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 64-year-old Kidder man was driving an eastbound pickup truck on JC Penney Road. At the same time, a 29-year-old Pattonsburg man was driving a van southbound on Caldwell Road.

Authorities said the van reached the intersection first and collided with the pickup truck’s passenger side. After the impact, both vehicles came to rest against a nearby utility pole.

Emergency responders transported the Kidder man to Liberty Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The Pattonsburg man was not injured in the crash.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Caldwell County collision.
