Police Investigate Fatal Crash Outside Clute Intermediate School

CLUTE, TX (May 14, 2026)— An 11-year-old girl died Thursday morning after a crash outside Clute Intermediate School involving a bicycle and a pickup truck.

Clute police said the collision happened around 7:20 a.m. in front of the school.

According to investigators, the girl was riding her bicycle to school when she collided with a GMC Sierra pickup truck that was exiting the school parking lot.

Police said the pickup driver immediately stopped and tried to render aid. However, the girl died from her injuries at the scene.

Multiple agencies responded to investigate the fatal crash, including the Clute Police Department, Lake Jackson Police Department, Lake Jackson Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Brazosport ISD Police Department.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
