Kimberly Butler of Vancouver Dead in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 [Vancouver, WA]

Vancouver, WA (March 30, 2025) – 56-year-old Kimberly Butler of Vancouver was killed in a vehicle crash on Highway 99 Thursday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened around 1:05 p.m. at the 9000 block of NE Highway 99 in Hazel Dell.

Rescuers found the Camry driver, Kimberly Butler, unresponsive but breathing. They transported her to an area hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Moreover, witnesses said the Lexus driver, Diego Quintana, 20, of Portland, initially tried to flee the scene. The witnesses were able to detain him until the authorities arrived.

Investigators said Quintana was driving at speeds estimated to be greater than 80 mph and collided with the Camry.

 Afterward, the Lexus crashed into a power pole on the southwest corner of the intersection, resulting in power lines falling down in the street.

After being hospitalized Thursday night, the authorities booked Quintana into Clark County Jail on Friday on suspicion of vehicular homicide, hit and run resulting in a death, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest.

Witnesses and surveillance determined there were two other passengers in the Lexus, and the authorities are asking the public’s help in finding the passengers.
