Krystal Kazmark Dies in Car Accident on Benton Crossing Road

 
Mammoth Lakes, CA (July 29, 2020) – On Saturday, 25-year-old Krystal Kazmark of Mammoth Lakes died in a two-vehicle crash on Benton Crossing Road.
 
The fatal crash took place at around 9:00 p.m. on July 25, just west of Pit Road.
 
California Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Joshua Daugherty, also of Mammoth Lakes, was driving a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab on Benton Crossing Road. He was at the speed limit when he made some turns that caused him to lose control of his vehicle.
 
His vehicle rotated and swerved across the eastbound lane. As a result, it was hit on the passenger side by an oncoming white 2016 Kia Sorento.
 
Daugherty’s passenger, Ms. Kazmark, died in the crash. A rescue team rushed Daugherty and another passenger to Mammoth Hospital with severe injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 71-year-old Kia driver who is from Hawthorne, and his passenger also sustained major injuries. While a juvenile passenger of Kia suffered moderate injuries. Paramedics also transported all of them to Mammoth Hospital for treatment.
 
Authorities did not provide other details about the crash, as it is still under investigation.
