Motorcyclist Kyle Groves Injured in WB I-82 Collision [Benton City, WA]

Benton City, WA (May 20, 2026) – Kyle Groves, 40, of Cle Elum, and a juvenile passenger, were injured in an I-82 collision Saturday evening.

It was before 7 p.m. when the motorcycle crash happened on the westbound freeway, near milepost 96.

WSP officers said Groves was westbound on a 2019 Kawasaki VN1700 when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway.

Groves and his juvenile passenger were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Police said they were wearing USDOT-compliant helmets.

Meanwhile, officers are investigating if DUI was a factor, but said failure to negotiate a curve caused the collision.
