Kyle Simon of Sugar Creek Involved Following Hit-and-Run Crash on Winner Road [Kansas City, MO]

Kansas City, MO (April 28, 2025) – Kyle Simon, 32, of Sugar Creek, was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Winner Road early Monday morning.

The traffic accident happened around 5:45 a.m. on April 2 at the intersection with White Avenue.

Responding officers located the victim lying unresponsive in the roadway. 

Immediately, the rescuers took the victim to Truman Medical Center with life-threatening injuries including severe head, pelvic and leg trauma.

Witnesses said the suspect vehicle was a dark colored sedan that was seen in the parking lot of a nearby church just after the collision. Officers said the vehicle had damage consistent with the incident. 

Officers stated that after a further review of security footage from the area, they determined that the vehicle to belonged to Simon.

Days later, Simon’s lawyer, contacted the authorities saying they would cooperate but would not give a statement. Simon and his lawyers were given access to the suspect vehicle, but, it was found that the hood of the vehicle was placed in a box in front of it.

A warrant was issued for Simon’s arrest on Wednesday, April 23, it was recalled and withdrawn on Friday.

Police said Simon posted his $5,000 bond.

If convicted, he could spend up to 4 years in jail and be forced to pay a $10,000 fine. 

An initial arraignment has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
