Lake of the Ozarks Boating Accident Injures 5 People [Camden County, MO]

Camden County, MO (May 27, 2025) — Five people from St. Joseph, Missouri, suffered injuries Monday after the Lake of the Ozarks boating accident.

According to authorities, the crash happened near the 38-mile marker when a 30-foot boat traveling downstream struck a large log floating in the water. The impact caused all five occupants to fall inside the vessel.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that two 12-year-old boys and two 13-year-old boys were among those injured. One 12-year-old and one 13-year-old sustained moderate injuries, while the other two teens suffered minor injuries. A 42-year-old man also suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. Officials also noted that no one onboard was wearing a life jacket at the time of the collision.
