Police Investigate Crash on Riverside Freeway in Riverside
Riverside, CA (December 23, 2025) – A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was involved in a crash on Riverside Freeway on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 12:13 p.m. east of Green River Road.
A witness told officers that the motorcycle officer was struck and fell onto the traffic lanes.
After the officer went down, the motorcycle continued moving on its own, collided with another vehicle, and then crashed into a wall along the right shoulder.
The extent of the officer’s injuries was not immediately known.
However, a witness reported seeing the officer standing, walking, and holding his right side following the incident.
LAPD officials informed the CHP that the department would dispatch its own tow truck to recover the damaged motorcycle.
Authorities did not confirm whether the officer was on duty at the time of the crash, and LAPD declined to release additional details.
The incident remained under investigation.
