81-Year-Old Leopoldo Barajas Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Ulysses Street [Simi Valley, CA]

Simi Valley, CA (June 20, 2024) On Tuesday afternoon 81-year-old Leopoldo Barajas of Simi Valley was killed in a pedestrian crash on Ulysses Street and Socrates Avenue.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 5:20 p.m. ear Arroyo Elementary School, northeast of East Los Angeles Avenue and Madera Road.

Reports say that a white SUV turning left from Socrates struck Barajas who was crossing on a crosswalk.

Medics rushed Barajas to the hospital, however the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital.

Authorities say that the driver stayed at the scene and officials say that impairment is not a factor in the crash.

Police are investigating the fatal crash.
