Long Beach Marina Boating Accident Results in Injuries [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (July 5, 2026) — Two people were injured on the night of July 3 when a boat struck a rock breakwater at the Long Beach Marina.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to a distress call at approximately 9:00 p.m. near the east end of the breakwater by the Queen Mary. Crews found a 30-foot power vessel with moderate damage after it collided with the barrier.

Seven people were aboard the boat at the time of the crash. After evaluating those on board, emergency responders transported two individuals to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Despite the damage, the vessel remained afloat and operational. Rescue crews escorted it safely to a public dock near the 400 block of Shoreline Drive.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The U.S. Coast Guard assisted local responders at the scene.
