17-year-old Love Icelyn Dixon Dead in Union Avenue Collision

Suspect Driver in Bakersfield Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash Wanted

Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2026) – 17-year-old Love Icelyn Dixon of Bakersfield was killed in a Union Avenue collision late Saturday night.

It was before 11 p.m. on July 18, when the fatal crash happened at the 3600 block area.

Responders found the pedestrian, Dixon, severely injured at the scene. Immediately, Dixon was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Investigators determined that Dixon got out of a vehicle that was stopped in the northbound’s number one lane. That is when she was hit by a vehicle that was traveling north in the number two lane.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Dixon fled the scene right after the impact.

Troopers said speed did not play a role in the collision, and they are still investigating if intoxication did.
