Loyal Clark Temple Killed in Disastrous Motorcycle Crash on Business 83 [Harlingen, TX]

Harlingen, TX (October 18, 2023) On Sunday morning, 83-year-old Loyal Clark Temple of La Féria, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Business 83.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Business 83 west of Bass Boulevard.

Officials say that a black Nissan Rogue, driven by 32-year-old Maria Rodriguez Muniz of San Benito, tried to turn left onto Karr Avenue and drove into the inside lane of the eastbound lanes of travel.

Meanwhile, Temple was on an eastbound white 2006 Honda tri-motorcycle that was forced to swerve to the right side of the road to avoid collision, however, Temple entered a parking lot then crashed into a tree. Temple was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that Muniz, failed to stop and render aid, instead fled the scene.

Officials arrested Muniz and charged with failure to stop and render aid in a collision causing death and criminal negligent homicide.
