According to CHP Bakersfield, the frightening crash happened at around 2:38 a.m. on Highway 178.

Reports say that the suspected DUI crash left a Toyota Camry severely damaged and resulted in at least one injury.

Authorities say that the vehicle crashed into rocks along the eastbound lanes.

Authorities arrested Costelo for felony DUI causing injury after he reportedly showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a field sobriety test.
