Lyle Mineer Dies in Horrific Collision on Highway 397 [Finley, WA]

Finley, WA (September 14, 2026) — 36-year-old Lyle Mineer of Kennewick died Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with an SUV near Finley, Washington.

The crash happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. at Highway 397 and Perkins Road. According to the Washington State Patrol, an SUV traveling north on Highway 397 failed to yield while turning onto Perkins Road and entered the path of the southbound motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Lyle Mineer III, died before he could reach a hospital. His 22-year-old female passenger, also from Kennewick, suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. Her condition was not immediately available.

The SUV’s 29-year-old Kennewick driver was not injured but received a citation for failing to yield. Her passenger also escaped injury. Authorities said alcohol and drugs did not appear to contribute to the crash.
