Male Pedestrian Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway [San Fernando Valley, CA]

San Fernando Valley, CA (February 6, 2026) – A man in his 30s was fatally injured in a multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway Tuesday night.

The traffic collision involving at least two vehicles happened before 10 p.m. on the southbound freeway, near Penrose Street in Sun Valley.

Troopers said one of the involved vehicles overturned after the collision.

Investigators stated that pedestrian was walking in the road when a vehicle struck him. 

Responding LAPD officers located five people injured. Two women, 22 and 42 years old, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to an hospital.

Moreover, a 19-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl, were also transported.
