Male Pedestrian Killed in Highway 99 Hit-and-Run Crash [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (June 27, 2025) – A male pedestrian was killed in a Highway 99 hit-and-run crash early Friday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 5 a.m. on the southbound freeway near Fruitridge Road.  

Responding officers declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Officers said the driver or drivers involved in the collision left before they arrived.

Troopers closed all southbound lanes for the investigation and no suspect vehicle has been released.

A 47-year-old pedestrian sustained fatal injuries following an accident on S Vermont Avenue Thursday
