Man Airlifted in Highway 59 Pedestrian Crash [Merced County, CA]

Merced County, CA (June 17, 2024) –  A man in his 20’s to 30’s was injured in a Highway 59 pedestrian crash Saturday morning.

It was before 8:30 a.m. when the man was hit by vehicle in the area of Reilly Road.

Troopers said the man ran into the road and a big rig managed to swerve to avoid striking him.

However, a Honda Civic traveling behind the big rig struck the man.

The authorities located the man laying on the road and the rescuers airlifted him to a hospital.

The Civic driver cooperated with the officers’ investigation.
