Police Investigate Crash on Country Club Road in Sunland Park

SUNLAND PARK, NM (May 14, 2026)— A man in his 20s suffered critical injuries Thursday after a serious crash on Country Club Road in Sunland Park.

According to Sunland Park Fire Chief Daniel Medrano, emergency crews responded to the crash on May 14 between Crawford Road and Westside Drive.

Due to the severity of the man’s injuries, responders requested FireSTAR helicopter transport. The medical helicopter airlifted the victim to a hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities closed both eastbound and westbound lanes of Country Club Road while crews responded to the scene and worked to clear the roadway.

After nearly an hour, officials reopened the lanes, and traffic returned to normal.

Authorities have not released additional details about the number of vehicles involved or what caused the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
