Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Avenue 12 in Madera County
Madera County, CA (August 29, 2025) — A 65-year-old Madera man died in a solo vehicle crash on Avenue 12 on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., CHP officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Avenue 12, just west of Road 30.
Investigators determined that a woman driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound when she left the roadway, veering onto the right shoulder.
CHP reported that the front end of the vehicle struck a ditch, causing the car to overturn and collide with two almond trees.
During the violent rollover, the 65-year-old male passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency personnel arrived quickly and performed life-saving measures, but pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported the female driver to a local hospital with minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released her identity.
CHP is actively investigating the cause of the crash, including what may have led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
