65-Year-Old Man Hurt in Horrific Big-Rig Crash on Highway 2 [Leeton, MO]

Leeton, MO (December 7, 2024) On Wednesday morning, a 65-year-old man sustained injuries after a horrific big-rig crash on Highway 2.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the traffic collision happened at about 7:45 a.m. on Missouri Highway 2 near Leeton High School.

Authorities say that a 44-year-old Warrensburg man driving a 2020 Peterbilt semi-truck failed to stop at the intersection with SE 301 Road, striking the driver’s side of a 2018 Chevrolet driven by the Leeton resident.

Emergency crews transported the Chevrolet driver to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The collision totaled the Chevrolet and caused extensive damage to the semi-truck. Authorities have not released additional details.
