AUSTIN, TX (December 7, 2025) – Saturday morning, a man was hospitalized in a startling auto accident on Interstate 35 near 12th Street.

The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near 12th Street.

The lanes were closed for an “accident investigation with potential serious injury,” and drivers were urged to take alternate routes while police worked the scene.

APD said two vehicles were involved, including an 18-wheeler. A man was taken to Dell Seton with injuries. About an hour later, police were able to reopen one lane on the freeway as the investigation continued.
