Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Crash at West County Center in Des Peres
Des Peres, MO (October 6, 2025) – A 73-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash at West County Center in the parking lot on Monday afternoon.
According to the Des Peres Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after hitting the pedestrian.
Officers were able to identify the suspect vehicle and tracked it to Interstate 44 in Franklin County. When deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect sped away, triggering a highway pursuit.
Law enforcement deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Authorities have not released his name at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, and Des Peres officials are urging witnesses to come forward with any information by calling 314-835-6235.
