2 Drivers Hospitalized After Crash at Pelandale Avenue in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (October 27, 2025)— A man suffered critical injuries after being ejected from his vehicle in a two-car crash at Pelandale Avenue early Saturday morning in Modesto, according to local authorities.
The crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Prescott Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2009 Nissan Cube traveling east on Pelandale Avenue collided with a 2005 Honda Accord heading north on Prescott Road, according to Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear.
The impact of the crash ejected the male driver of one of the vehicles from his car. Bystanders quickly rushed to his aid, performing CPR and chest compressions until emergency crews arrived.
The Modesto Fire Department praised the quick response of those bystanders, who may have played a critical role in preserving the man’s life.
Paramedics transported the ejected driver to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the second vehicle reportedly suffered neck pain and was also taken to the hospital, though with less severe injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
