Festus Man Seriously Injured in Accident on US 61 [Barnhart, MO]

Barnhart, MO (September 1, 2024) – A 29-year-old Festus man and a 48-year-old Imperial man were injured in a pedestrian accident on US 61 Friday night.

It was about 8:45 p.m. when the accident happened at the 7045 block of US 61.

Troopers said a 30-year-old Crystal City man was backing out of the business’ parking lot when it struck a pole. 

The driver then accelerated forward and struck the two men. The vehicle also struck several more poles in the parking lot as well.

Immediately, the Festus man was transported to a hospital with serious injuries while the Imperial man was treated at the crash scene.

The medical team also rushed the driver to the hospital with moderate injuries.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the traffic accident on US 61.
