71-Year-Old Man Injured in Ventura Boulevard Hit-and-Run Crash [Encino, CA]

Encino, CA (November 20, 2024) – A 71-year-old man was injured in a Ventura Boulevard hit-and-run crash Saturday night.

It was around 9 p.m. when the traffic collision happened near Libbit Avenue.

Troopers said a white vehicle was speeding east on Ventura Boulevard when it collided with a northbound vehicle exiting from a driveway. That vehicle veered to the left and struck a pedestrian crossing the street.

The pedestrian was thrown and landed on westbound traffic on Ventura Boulevard.

Troopers said the northbound on Ventura Boulevard stayed at the scene while the eastbound vehicle fled the scene.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators said the suspect’s vehicle was a four-door Nissan Altima with a driver-side door mirror missing. It has collision damage to the front right headlamp, and possible damage to the front right and rear passenger doors.

The city officers a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
