1 Dead in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Clay Road in Addicks Reservoir

HOUSTON, TX (January 7, 2026) – Monday night, a man died in a brutal pedestrian crash on Clay Road in Addicks Reservoir.

The incident occurred at about 11:35 p.m. in the 13700 block of Clay Road in the Addicks Reservoir.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sgt. Rose and Officer Hudson said a 29-year-old man was attempting to cross the roadway in a dark, wooded area when he was struck by a black Honda Accord.

Authorities said the 36-year-old driver stopped and attempted to render aid. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police said the driver was not impaired and was released after questioning.

Officials said the victim’s identity was pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD said the investigation remained ongoing.
