SACRAMENTO, CA (November 10, 2021) – Tuesday night, a man died in a hit-and-run crash on Marconi Avenue and Becerra Way, and Alcier Albert was arrested.

The accident involving a dark blue vehicle happened at about 9:45 p.m.

According to reports, the vehicle traveled east on Marconi Avenue while speeding. Then, it struck a male pedestrian on Marconi Avenue and Becerra Way. As a result, the vehicle dragged the pedestrian down the street.

Afterward, the driver fled the crash scene. Also, the authorities confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene.

Moreover, the authorities later revealed that the assailant attempted to claim his vehicle as stolen. Even so, police found evidence he indeed struck the decedent, and arrested him.

27-year-old Alcier Francis Albert remains in the Sacramento County Jail pending charges of filing a false report, hit-and-run, and gross vehicular manslaughter.

The identity of the 59-year-old pedestrian that died at the scene remains unknown.
