1 Dead in South Sacramento Auto Accident on Eastbound 50 and Howe Avenue

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (September 25, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a man died in a horrific 2-vehicle crash on Eastbound 50 and Howe Avenue.

The incident involving a silver Chevrolet Corvette and a diesel truck happened at about 9:30 a.m. on Eastbound 50, west of Howe Avenue.

CHP says three vehicles were involved in the crash that left a Corvette wedged under a diesel truck.

Investigators said the chain of events began when an Acura made an unsafe lane change from the number three lane, hitting the right front of the Corvette.

The Corvette then moved left and came to a stop in the number one lane, where it was struck by an eastbound truck that was unable to stop in time.

The Corvette’s driver was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries around 10:50 a.m., according to CHP.

Caltrans cameras showed traffic was heavily impacted for a time as emergency crews investigated.
