Merriam Woods Man Killed in Horrific Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 44 [Phelps County, MO]

Phelps County, MO (December 18, 2024) On Tuesday morning, 55-year-old Merriam Woods Man was killed after a tragic pedestrian crash on Interstate 44.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal incident happened at about 12:05 a.m. on westbound I-44 near mile marker 177.

Reports say that a 55-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after being struck by two vehicles on westbound Interstate 44.

Authorities say that the man was walking in the roadway when a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia hit him. Moments later, an unidentified tractor-trailer also struck him.

Authorities have notified the man’s next of kin.
