FIFE, WA (February 3, 2025) – Sunday morning, a 63-year-old man died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 and Tacoma Road.

The incident occurred at around 12:20 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 and Tacoma Road.

A 63-year-old Seattle man was killed after stepping onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, according to troopers. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened when a 62-year-old Tacoma man and his 66-year-old passenger were driving north on I-5. Troopers say the Seattle man was initially standing on the right shoulder near Port of Tacoma Road before entering the freeway. He made it to lane three before being struck by the Tacoma driver.

The driver and passenger were not injured. Authorities confirmed that impairment was not a factor.
