CARROLL COUNTY, MO (May 5, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a man died in a brutal head-on crash on Highway 139 near County Road 220.

The incident happened on Highway 139 near County Road 220.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 50-year-old man was driving on the wrong side of Highway 139 near County Road 220 when he collided with a southbound Carroll County Sheriff’s vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy, a 41-year-old woman from Hardin, was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
