Man Killed in Devastating Head-On Crash on US 101

1 Dead in Sequim Auto Accident on US 101 near Milepost 267

SEQUIM, WA (February 17, 2026) – Sunday night, a man died in a devastating head-on crash on US 101 near Milepost 267.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on US 101 near Milepost 267.

The crash occurred when a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 39-year-old man from Port Hadlock, was flown to Providence Regional Medical Center. WSP said drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. He is suspected of vehicular assault and vehicular homicide.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 34-year-old woman from Lynnwood, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. A 39-year-old man from Lynnwood, who was also in that vehicle, died at the scene.

Clallam County Fire District 3 said two dogs were extricated from the wreckage and survived.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
