Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Sierra Highway in Lancaster
LANCASTER, CA (May 14, 2026)— A man died Wednesday night after an SUV struck him in a crash on Sierra Highway while he was crossing.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station, the crash happened around 9:50 p.m. near Sierra Highway and Avenue J-8.
Investigators said the pedestrian was walking eastbound across Sierra Highway, just south of Avenue J-8. At the same time, a woman driving a black SUV was traveling southbound on Sierra Highway.
The SUV struck the man as he crossed the roadway. Deputies said the pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to Antelope Valley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
