85-year-old Oak Grove Man Killed in Tragic 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 50 [Lone Jack, MO]

Lone Jack, MO (December 23, 2024) On Saturday evening, an 85-year-old male passenger from Oak Grove was killed in a horrific 3-vehicle crash on Highway 50.

According to authorities, the fatal incident happened around 7:45 p.m. on Highway 50 near Route F.

Reports say that emergency responders arrived at the scene after reports of the multi-vehicle collision.

Authorities determined that a 55-year-old Oak Grove man, driving a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado, attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 50 from Route F. During the maneuver, his vehicle collided with a westbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 66-year-old Sedalia man.

The force of the collision caused the 2002 Silverado to slide into a passing 2019 Ford F-150 operated by a 67-year-old Sibley man.

The crash claimed the life of an 85-year-old male passenger from Oak Grove, who succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Centerpoint Medical Center. Two other passengers, a 54-year-old Oak Grove man and a 66-year-old Warrensburg woman, suffered life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized.

The 66-year-old driver of the 2002 Silverado sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene. Investigators stated he was the only individual not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
