Manteca, CA (September 20, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash on W Lathrop Road took the life of a 73-year-old Manteca woman early Friday morning.

It was before 6 a.m. when the deadly collision happened at the 800 block area.

According to the authorities, the victim was walking home from a church when she was hit by the vehicle.

Witnesses stated the involved driver got out of the vehicle but drove away. 

Immediately, the pedestrian was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Police asked those who witnessed the deadly collision to call them at 209-456-8101.
